It was Becky's birthday last Friday, and it was her wish that her friends free themselves of the hustle and bustle of Sydney in order to pay full attention to her. So she organised a beach house weekend at Jervis Bay.
Rebecca Lau, daughter of Andy Lau, is one of my oldest friends in Australia. I've known her since 2nd year uni way back in 1996. She has not changed one bit. Always jovial and witty, she's alot of fun to be with. And she loves karaoke!
Becky is the most well-balanced Asian Australian in my opinion. Although she's an ABC, she speaks fluent Cantonese, has a good mix of Asian and guai-los friends and she works for a local council so she still adopts lazy guai-lo work ethics.
She's one of the heaviest internet users at her office, and her blog is slowly gaining fame among other food related blogs.
And she has posted the most number of comments on ahbeng.net! Hornee-Monkee likes her very much.
Anyway, at the beach house, a couple of the boys and girls pitched in to make dinner.

The rest waited patiently.

Dinner was very impressive. Roasted chicken, rice paper rolls, sang choy bao, boiled bak choy, sambal prawns, bbq chicken wings and mixed grape fruit vegetable salad.
Cooking tip: Crushed up Mamee makes salads interesting. But don't sprinkle the msg flavoring on top.

After cleaning up, it was time for fun and games! Sensual massages, karaoke, chor-dai-di, Star Wars risk, poker and this puzzle game embedded in the TV were hot favorites that night.

Poor Becky had to bake her own cake. Sylvia and I originally bought her a slice of cake from a bakery at Berry, but because we were locked out of the beach house for 3 hours, we ate it before seeing her.
Joe and Tracey's birthdays were also pretty close, so we had a combined birthday celebration.
Becky got an iPod shuffle from us, and Joe got a boxed Blade Trinity dvd set.
Tracey got a Lord of the Rings boxed set. Because the order was made online and wasn't delivered yet, Shar graciously loaned her copy to be used as the temporary gift. But it turned out that Tracey already had the LOTR boxed set!
Give it to me hard big boy... yeah, yeah, yeah...
